| I noticed that Gennaro had a much larger role in the Novel than in the film. In the film, as everyone know, he is eaten by the tyrannosaurus. However, from Crichton's novel, he survives and is one of the characters who bring the park back into order. Plus, he is later blamed for almost everything, because he funded Jurassic Park, and as Grant put it, the dinosaurs were his animals. I just found that interesting. Any other thoughts? | |

| Thank you for your generous welcomes And I think the films would've been much, MUCH better if they followed the novels more. So many things were changed! | |

| I know, it always adds a comical sense to the film, but maybe if they put Ed Regis in there... | |

| Okay, okay. I'm trying as much as I can to check this forum every now and again. Anyway, back to Gennaro... I think his appearance is different as well. In the movie he was a slim guy witha clumsy sense to him, whereas in the novel, he is said to be a muscular guy, very fit. Very strange how Spielberg changed things. | |

| What else can be said by this business man we call Mr. Donald Gennaro? Do you think Crichton intended for him to be somewhat Italian? I think Gennaro sounds like an italian name... | |

| Toward the end of the novel I feel bad for Gennaro. I mean...it's not his fault! Dude gets dragged away from his daughter's birthday party, gets chased by an T-Rex, his career gets ruined because of Hammond...and oh, he dies from Dysentry in the next novel. Also why the hell would you want to crawl inside a hole filled with Raptors? Just throw a nerve gas grenade in there and call it a day!

I would never crawl inside that hole, but I felt he was a coward then, because everyone was going into the hole. He couldn't stay out. | |
