| My opinion on the book (VERY briefly) would be that it was one of my alltime favorite books, I loved the way it actually made sense and still didn't lack the dino action.

| I really enjoyed Jurassic Park. The Lost World was also a favorite. I really liked the part in The Lost World when Dodgson gets killed by the tyrannosaur I also just finished reading Sphere. I thought that that was also a great novel. So far Michael Crichton has not let me down yet. | |

| Jurassic Park was a literary work of art. So was TLW. I still hope to read Congo sometime in the future also by MC (R.I.P.) | |

| Ooh! Congo is really good. It's a bit slow in the beginning (aren't all M.C. books?), but stick with it, as it will pay off. I've read: Timeline Sphere Congo The Terminal Man Jurassic Park The Lost World and 1/2 of Eaters of the Dead then I started on Lord of the Rings (Fellowship) | |

| Jurassic Park I like as a story and i think it's done better here then in the movie. I like the characters, the behavior of the dinosaurs and the theories explained such as Raptor pack hunting and warm blooded dinosaurs.
As a cautionary tale it's a tad conflicting though, i mean he is trying to say we shouldn't play god and really stop where we are right now with our research. To be fair, cloning is in my opinion still a good idea.

He wrote that we already know what science can and cannot do. He just want us fo follow the right path and show how things can be bad if the scientists are unethical. I think he was mad with science at that time, because he also wrote Travels in the 80's and in that book he wrote a lot about how scientists are prejudiced about things they cannot explain. That's a wonderful book.

| Rising Sun is better than the movie, for sure. I liked. But is about the social differences between Japan and USA and international trades. | |

| Does it ahve any sex in it? From the prologue i saw of Amazon i'm sort of pulled off by the cursing. Same goes in TLW, I was surpised to hear a swear like Fuck in a JP novel. | |

| It has been a long time I read. I remember that there is a murder after a sex scene, and the cops find the girl naked dead body. But it's not a big deal, for sure. None of Crichton's novels is about sex or cursing, but those things can be part of the story. | |

| I wasn't a big fan of the cursing in TLW. In JP there was not a single fuck or shit if i recall correctly, but in TLW it's full of 'em. Dodgeson was the source of it though.
Overall I think JP was a better novel then TLW. Crichton made Malcom to much of a preacher, an annyoing one mind, whilst i prefered him as a snarky character. The reason why the kids are there is borderline stupid, the motivation to go to Isla Sorna is not really needed. Seriously Levine left Diego to die and he not ocne shwoed remorse in that entire novel. Also why the hell do you need data o nextinction on a deceased species while clearly these creatures are man made and arding already said the ecology was fucked up from the word go!

| Dodson is a dirty character, so the dirty language fits well.
I was convinced that they wanted to see the genetic engineered dinosaurs in flesh in order to understand the past dinosaur behaviour, because some of the behaviour is printed in the genes (?). Even if they don't behave like the extinct dinosaurs, they would have to observate the InGen dinosaur to get to any conclusion. And Levine wanted very much to see a living dinosaur, so he went to the island to see anything he could find. The others followed him.
